11 March #LibLoveDevo

Your weekly love note from God (as imagined by Sandhya!). Odd numbered days come from Hebrew Bible, and even numbered days work their way through the New Testament, so we can reconnect with all our spiritual ancestors. Here’s hoping you find it meaningful!

Zechariah 1:3-4 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or heed me, says the Lord.

Many of my children have been given countless opportunities to return to me. Whole generations have ignored that plea to their detriment. When my children fell away from them, their nation unraveled in in-fighting and the losing of the spiritual practices that held them together as other influences crept in. Generations ended up in exile when their nation fell, and Zechariah came to remind them it was still not too late for them to reconnect with me. You have been given the same chance: connect with me now. Hear me. Heed me. And help your community stay rooted in my ways. Today I invite you to reflect on your journey and what it has felt like or would feel like to return to me. Give thanks, and pray.
