Your weekly love note from God!
Jeremiah 17:56a, 7-8a Thus says the Lord:
Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals
and make mere flesh their strength,
whose hearts turn away from the Lord.
They shall be like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see when relief comes.
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.
I know you have had moments when you have felt let down by people in your life. While the best of my children seek to grow closer to the divine perfection born into them, humans fall short. Love the people around you, build community with them, forgive them when they let you down. But know that even when people break your heart, I will be there to hold you and comfort you. What would it look like for you to place less trust in human structures and institutions and to trust me more fully? How can you invest more deeply in us, so that you might be more grounded as you work to grow closer to divine perfection yourself?
