25 March #LibLoveDevo

Your weekly love note from God (courtesy of Sandhya!). In the fall of 2018, Sandhya had a sense God was calling her to write a daily devotional “for the rest of us,” less with the piety and more with the really relateable people from scripture whose stories help us make sense of our own stories. Here’s hoping this plays a meaningful role in your own journey.

Joshua 6:18 As for you, keep away from the things devoted to destruction, so as not to covet and take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel an object for destruction, bringing trouble upon it.

“Beware the company you keep” is a saying popular not so long ago, and it is worth considering. It is important to stay in relationship with people who need you. It is important, though, to create distance from those who do not seek for you to thrive and grow closer to me. This is true for you and it is true for your community. How are you making sure that you build a community devoted to strengthening my work of love, not a community prone to gossip and power grabbing and judgment? How can I be ever more a part of that process?
