8 April Liberating Love Devotional

Your weekly love note from God!

1 Peter 2:4-6 Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in scripture:

‘See, I am laying in Zion a stone,

   a cornerstone chosen and precious;

and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.’

It is so easy to feel inadequate to the task to which I’ve called you. And it’s so easy to see the imperfections of the others with whom I’ve called you into community. Today’s scripture is a reminder to you: I love you in your imperfections. I love you in the ways that you don’t fit in or feel like you are misunderstood. I love you in your imperfections. I am building a world with you and your imperfect, misunderstood siblings. Today I invite you to see if you can tap into a little bit of my grace towards those in your community who frustrate you. And I invite you to remember that the parts of you the world has rejected, I love those parts of you most.
